It’s Time for an Extra Dose of Kindness

February is a month that reminds us all to take care of our hearts. It’s American Heart Month, which is a good time to educate ourselves about heart health. There’s also Valentine’s Day, when we treat those we love most with extra attention and affection. February is all about heart-shaped boxes of chocolate, x’s and o’s, red roses, and candy hearts.

But a lesser-known national date in February is Random Acts of Kindness Day, which falls on Wednesday the 17th this year. We can probably all agree that there’s a bit of a kindness shortage out there right now. Celebrating kindness – either through doing or simply witnessing a kind act – should be something that’s on our daily calendars. But we also need to start somewhere, and Random Acts of Kindness Day is a perfect reminder that even the smallest gesture or seemingly insignificant moment can make a huge impact on someone’s life. Studies repeatedly show there are many health benefits related to giving, receiving, or even observing such random acts of kindness, too.

So, this year, we are all in to #ExploreTheGood and #MakeKindnessTheNorm. To find some special things you can do to get ready for Random Acts of Kindness Day, check out this website.

Your heart will thank you for it!
