Team Member Spotlight

This month, we’d like to spotlight Karen Hansen – our Chief Financial Officer, and one of our operations key leaders!  As our CFO at Splashlight, Karen works diligently to keep the financial side of our business running smoothly.  In addition to her financial work, Karen assists in leading the day to day operations and support of our Pharmacy Benefit Management program, supports all of our employees HR needs, and works with the operations teams to ensure that both internal and client needs are being met timely.  Karen is always around to greet everyone with a smile, and consistently goes above and beyond to support Splashlight as a whole. Karen plays a key role in our ability to provide top-class services to all of our clients.  Read more about Karen below:

What drew you to Splashlight originally?  “Through relationships with my previous employer I was introduced to Lisa.  Watching and listening to Lisa’s enthusiasm for the services she was providing stirred enthusiasm for me, and afforded me an opportunity to join Splashlight as CFO.”

How has Splashlight changed since?  “I have watched Splashlight grow through acquisitions, and by adding additional services to create a more complete portfolio of services that will add value to current and future clients. With this added growth it has brought additional new relationships and valuable employees.”

What do you find most challenging at Splashlight?  “With the many “hats” that I wear, I find the most challenging aspect is making sure that nothing falls through the cracks. With the many tasks that cross my desk daily I need to make sure that what goes out is accurate and complete.”

What aspects of your role do you enjoy the most?   “I enjoy the interaction on a daily basis with my co-workers and the diversity and camaraderie that comes with an office environment.  The daily interaction that I have with our clients who value the service we bring adds another level of enjoyment.”

If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?  “If I had to choose a fictional character it would have to be Jacqueline Smith aka Kelly Garrett from Charlies Angels.  Kelly Garrett was a strong female role model for the time that had the ability to take on tasks no matter the difficulty, think them through and solve the problem.”

What is the best vacation you’ve been on?  “The best vacation I have had to date is having the ability to go to Breckenridge, Colorado together with all of our kids, significant others, as well as my husband’s parents.  Our family was able to enjoy a week of laughter, skiing and  many other memories.”

What do you like to do on your days off?  “Because I am a person that does not know how to sit still or relax, my days off are spent staying busy.  During my days off I am usually at the gym at some point.  I love to spend time with my husband doing a variety of activities like biking and traveling, and when time allows our adult children will join in.”
