Team Member Spotlight

This month we would like to spotlight Kristyn Willis, Senior Bill Review Analyst.  Before joining Splashlight in September 2016, Kristyn worked  as a teaching assistant.  Kristyn works in our Medical Bill Review department processing reviews and interacting with the clients.  Kristyn brings many years of bill review knowledge and accuracy to the department.  Outside of Splashlight, Kristyn enjoys spending time with her husband and going to Comic Conventions.  Please read more about Kristyn below:

What did you do before Splashlight?  I worked a couple of years as a preschool teaching assistant. I got to help the students with their day-to-day lessons and eventually got to start creating lessons myself when I became the teacher for the summer school classes. I have mostly been working as a bill review analyst on multiple accounts over the duration of about 6 years before starting at Splashlight.

What is your role at Splashlight? I am one of the Senior Bill Review Analysts.  I help the Bill Review team review bills as they come through, assist adjusters with any questions they may have, keep track of our E-Binder updates, finalize reviews, and send completed reviews back to clients.

How has Splashlight helped you in your career development?  Splashlight has truly built a foundation around open communication. They take the time to learn and understand each individual’s strengths and how best those attributes fit within their role here. By creating such an inclusive and uplifting environment focused on each person has helped me move confidently into new roles knowing I will always have a team around me to work with and rely on.

What is your biggest achievement to date – personal or professional?  I have a lot of aspirations and projects I am always working on and working towards but I can’t really think of any specific achievements I have. In a broader sense I’d probably say that my biggest achievement in a world full of distractions is learning to live a life of balance in joy, love, and creativity.

What do you like to do outside of work?  Spending time with my husband and pug, going to Comic Conventions, writing, rollerblading, and learning.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?  If I could learn to do anything, I would spend my time going back to school to learn to be a neuroscientist. I have a huge passion for learning about the correlation between the mind and body and how it all intertwines together.

When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?  I generally spend my free-time either writing or learning. I love learning and then taking those small pieces of knowledge as inspiration when I am creating a fictional story.

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would it be?  If I could visit anywhere it would probably be Scotland. I love how captivating the landscapes are and the historical architectures that still exist there would be breathtaking to see in person.
